We consider travel to be one of life's great delights and privileges.

Our own travels have left us with memories of splendid sights,

regional foods, and stirring conversations with local people.

Unique lodgings have contributed greatly to those memories.

We have always loved to open our home to others;

seeing hospitality as a way to help people connect,

believing that shared meals and conversation bridge chasms.

The blending of those passions, travel and hospitality,

is what fuels our vision for The Samuel Dearing House.

Our mission is to offer a warm welcome and

simple comforts to help each guest rest

from the pace and place of their everyday life.

At the Samuel Dearing House,

we offer carefully appointed guest rooms,

each dedicated to a person whose life's work has influenced us.

The rooms are furnished with antiques, curated books,

and high-end linens.

Guests have remarked that they feel as if they've

stepped back in time

while still enjoying modern comforts.

In a common space we call The Cozy, we provide homemade breakfast goods (unless our guests have other breakfasting plans).

Our visitors will find treats and beverages there to enjoy at any time - and, in the evening: a bedtime snack!

We're also happy to provide suggestions for local dining.

We're located in St. Paul and very near Minneapolis -

convenient to everything either city has to offer.
